The Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Centre (QSCBC) uses physical therapy , particularly a form of dance therapy, to alleviate joint restrictions post breast
cancer surgery, (if it occurs). If a patient suffers from lymphoedema, or arm swelling this therapy is helpful. The therapy is also a nursing research project established over three years ago and a valuable supportive group therapy.
The therapy is a moderate exercise regime, instructed by a specialist teacher of dance therapy. All exercises are suitable for breast cancer patients of all ages, who have already had breast surgery or chemotherapy.
Sessions are held on Wednesday and Friday- 11:00 – 12:30 at the Queen Sirikit Centre for Breast Cancer Conference Room, 9th Floor
Only breast cancer patients who have completed their medical treatment, with a permission letter from a doctor, stating that patient can do moderate exercises, are allowed to join the sessions. Suitability of participants is assessed by the QSCBC specialist nursing team.
